Abstract: Obesity is the accumulation of abnormal or excessive fat which leads to inflammation and disturbs the optimal state of health of an individual. Obesity leads to development of both cardiovascular diseases and non-cardiovascular diseases such as psoriasis, depression, cancer, and renal diseases etc. If level of adiponectin is decreased, a significant predictor of cardiovascular mortality, is associated with impaired fasting glucose, leading to type-2 diabetes development, metabolic abnormalities, coronary artery calcification and stroke, which are all backed by chronic inflammation. Obesity if controlled will help reduce the risks of cardiovascular diseases and other inflammatory metabolic disorders and diseases via inhibiting inflammatory mechanisms. Inflammation created by obesity puts excess load in kidneys leading to severe kidney damage also.
