Abstract: Respiratory disease caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae is a source of major economic loss to the swine industry all over the world. Determining the source of infection with the pathogen is an important objective of epidemiological investigations conducted in connection with disease outbreaks in pig herds. This makes it possible to establish potential responsibility in warranty issues and to tighten the biosecurity measures of pig farms.
