Abstract:
Shape memory alloys (SMAs) can be used as actuators with the application of temperature gradients, altering the material’s crystallographic phase while it reaches transformation temperatures, and extends macroscopically. Measurement of temperature is of fundamental importance in thermomechanical characterization and many applications of SMAs.
