Abstract:
The diversity nature of Nigeria also reflects in the chemical engineering students’ matrix in the tertiary institutions across the nation, and there is growing yearnings for a paradigm shift in the teaching methods. A survey conducted at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria in 2021, revealed that there is a wide gap among the various generations Baby Boomer, Baby Bust (generation X), Millennials (generation Y) and i Gen (generation Z) of lecturers in relation to students. As a result of this gap, and other barriers such as social background, imbalance in the curriculum, and disability which are speculated to affect adversely the academic performance of the students, the current work examines the use of inclusive teaching approach to change the narrative.
