Abstract:
Despite recommendations of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, the Ethiopian Demographic Health Survey of 2019 found a 59% compliance rate. The Ethiopian Health Sector Transformational Plan I targeted an increase in the proportion of exclusively breastfed infants under age 6 months to 72 percent by 2020. This study assessed knowledge, attitude, and practices of mothers on exclusive breast-feeding and mixed feeding in northern Ethiopia.
