Abstract: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has grown to be a global and public health concern due to the increasing number of patients receiving renal services and its economic burden on the healthcare system in terms of increased healthcare costs. CKD also is associated with unfavorable outcomes and raised morbidity and mortality rates. Worldwide, the prevalence of CKD is high due to the increased prevalence of chronic non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. Unfortunately, the CKD prevalence is not well studied in Arab countries due to a lack of epidemiological databases.
