Abstract:
The electroencephalogram (EEG) is a technique for detecting and recording electrical activity in the brain. It is used to diagnose brain disorders like seizures and cognitive impairments. When appropriate imaging techniques, such as brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), are combined with EEG, more information on structural abnormalities and the pathophysiology of the underlying symptoms can be gained. Several studies have found that EEG provides more information and helps predict response to pharmacotherapies and prognosis.
