Abstract:
Waste landfills represent a potential health risk. Indeed, it is possible that chemicals migrate out of the site and pollute the environmental media (water, air, soil). Populations living near these sites can then become contaminated through the air they breathe, the water they drink or the plants that grow on these polluted soils. Several studies have shown the existence of health effects in relation to waste storage activity or the proximity of storage sites, respectively for workers and for local populations [1-5].
