Abstract: Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) are considered to be a group of heterogeneous hematopoietic neoplasms with overlapping myelodysplastic and myeloproliferative features. They occur mostly in the elderly and have an inherent tendency to transform into acute myeloid leukemia.
