Abstract: It contains a dihydro-pyridine, a member of monochlorobenzene, an ethyl ester, a methyl ester and a primary amino compound. IUPAC Name (RS)-3-ethyl 5-methyl 2-[(2-aminoethoxy) methyl]-4(2-chlorophenyl)-6-methyl-1,4- dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate. Amlodipine may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive or antianginal agents for the treatment of: hypertension, coronary artery disease, variant angina, chronic stable angina. Tablets containing 2.5mg, 5mg and 10mg are available.
