Abstract: In the United States (US), e-cigarettes may be the leading cause of preventable adverse health outcomes among the youth. Since the introduction of e-cigarettes in 2007, it has become the most popular tobacco product among the youth. E-cigarette use has been a severe public health concern, with one in nine high school students and one in 35 middle school students reporting e-cigarette use in the past 30 days. The present review highlights the e-cigarette use among US youth by providing comprehensive and sustainable evidence-based implementations to prevent e-cigarette use. A joint venture between parents, educators, youth advocates, and health care officials can combat the increasing e-cigarette use among youth. This review adds additional resources to the public health field by providing an in-depth understanding of e-cigarette use, reasons for the use, and best prevention strategies under one canopy.
