Abstract: One way to reach a building with higher energy efficiency is to use solar renewable energy, used to enhance the thermal performance of the building. In general, two ranges can be defined according to the depth for the solar spaces studied in this research, first, the depth of more than one meter, which can add living space to the building, and second, the depth of less than one meter, which is similar to the Trombe wall. They do not work and do not add a livable space to the building This study investigates the depth of the solar space in the heat load of the annexed settlement to this space with the aim of reaching the optimal depth of this element in order to reduce the heating load during the cold days of the year, and the minimum imposition of the excess cooling load in the summer by Design Builder and Energy Plus software with the method Descriptiveanalytical analysis and then analyzed the results. Finally, according to the results of the calculations related to the heating loads in optimal winter conditions, the studied models of priority use are sunspace with an angle of 60 degrees, sunspace with an angle of 45 degrees, sunspace with an angle of 30 degrees, rectangular cube sunspace.
