Abstract: A growing body of research suggests a link between the gut microbiota and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), but the causal relationship between specific flora and inflammatory bowel disease is unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the causal relationship between gut microbiota genera and inflammatory bowel disease and its two phenotypes ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
