Abstract: Healthcare-associated infections remain a significant burden, and hospital hygiene algorithms play a central role in their prevention. Medical staff hand hygiene is often in the center of investigations, how- ever, much less attention has been paid to the role of everyday utensils as possible indicators for weak points of the own system.
