Abstract: Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is planted all over the world and is an important crop for sugar and bioenergy. Increases in both the frequency and severity of extreme weather events have been attributed to climate change and the release of greenhouse gases. Climate change is expected to significantly damage sugarcane output worldwide, especially in poorer countries. This is because our ability to adapt is quite low, we are highly susceptible to natural disasters, our forecasting systems and our mitigation strategies are poor, and so on. Probably already having a detrimental effect on sugarcane production, climate change-induced increases in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events are expected to have further negative consequences in the future. How much of an effect climate change will have on sugarcane is conditional on both where it is grown and how well it can adapt to its new environment. To better understand the effects of climate change on sugarcane production, we analyzedsugarcane reaction to climate change events, sugarcane production in numerous different nations, and obstacles for sugarcane production in climate change. We also provided strategies to lessen the impact of climate change and increase the long-term viability and financial viability of sugarcane farming.
