Technological innovation: the path to the inexhaustibility of natural resources (the gas industry example)

Abstract: The article discusses technological factors that undermine the concept of gas exhaustion as a natural resource. These include the scaling of technologies for liquefied natural gas and shale gas production, as well as technologies for the production of synthetic methane based on renewable energy sources and technology for the development of gas hydrate deposits, which are under exploration. Technological advances reduce the value of the gas exhaustion factor, which leads to new risks and opportunities for players in global gas markets.
