North Sea Route. External factors and natural resources

Yu. A. Shcherbanin ()

RSUH/RGGU BULLETIN. Series Economics. Management. Law, 2020, issue 2

Abstract: Issues of North Sea Route development are considered. The possible influence of external factors over the Arctic policy of Russia is analyzed through the prism of the Arctic Doctrine adopted by the US Department of Defense (DoD). The importance of Polar Sea Passage is demonstrated via connection with the start of mining operations in order to understand the extent of the infrastructure scale and maritime fleet required for that.
