Abstract: The purpose of this study is to apply portfolio theory perform- ance measurement indexes applied frequently before and data en- velopment analysis calculations on mutual funds performance and to compare their results. Both portfolio theory performance meas- urement methods and a mathematical method have been used in this study relatively. According to this, annual performance of mu- tual funds type A and B operating in Turkish Capital markets between 2000 and 2006 were evaluated. Performance evaluation and data envelopment analyses were mentioned respectively in the first and second sections of the study. A comparison between meth- ods were done in the third sections, model used and data were.mentioned in the following sections and empirical findings were processed in the last section.
