Rating Application within the Framework of Corporate (Company) Rating Approaches of Independent Rating Agencies

Abstract:
Rating is an instrument for measuring the capability of meeting the financial liabilities of an institution or an economic unit and it also provides the investor to compare the risks related with investment and therefore, enables the decision making process. In the recent period, in line with the developments on global financial markets, also in Turkey, rating has gained an importance. Moving from this context, the aim of this study is a case study in an industrial institution related with the prognostication of rating agencies’ ratings by using agencies’ corporate rating approaches (methodologies). In this context, a case study has been carried out in an industrial institution having operations in food and beverage sector. In order to define the weight of criteria used in the case study, Analytic Network Process (ANP) has been used.
