Abstract:
The tourism sector is one of the fastest growing sectors. The tourism sector is composed of many sub-sectors. The tourism sector has positive contributions to economic development, elimination of income injustice and employment. In this frame, investigating the financial performance of tourism companies traded on the Borsa Istanbul is important for both investors and managers. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performances of publicly traded tourism companies traded in Istanbul Stock Exchange. The findings obtained from the analyzes were included in the analysis of the model section. Findings obtained in the conclusion section are related to finance theory. In addition, in this section general evaluations were made about tourism sector and some solutions were proposed for businesses operating in the sector.
