Abstract: In recent years, with the acceleration of globalization, the financial sector have experienced significant changes. The financial system, which is constantly developing as a result of these changes, can directly and indirectly affect the tax burden. as a result of this effect, the number of studies examining the relationship between tax revenues and financial development has been increasing in recent years. However, the number of studies on fragile five countries is very few. In this direction, it aims to investigate the effect of financial institution development on tax revenues. For this purpose, econometric analyzes has been made with the annual data of the countries called fragile five countries for the period of 1980-2018. However, due to data constraints, econometric analysis could be performed for south Africa, India and Turkey. According to the findings obtained as a result of the analyzes made with the vector error correction method, financial institution development has positive tax burden in south Africa and India; on the other hand in Turkey, it affects negatively.
