Abstract:
The role played by governments and employers in managing investments on behalf of An individual has shrunk significantly in the recent past as a result of changes in the social support structures across the world. Having financial literacy skills is an essential basis for both avoiding and solving financial problems which in turn are vital to living a prosperous, healthy and happy life. Thisstudy makes an attempt to assess the financial literacy among various rural tribes in the state of Tripura. The study used globally recognized OECD questionnaire survey for measuring financial literacy and collected 362 data sample from 4 tribal dominant district of Tripura. The finding of the study reveals low level of financial literacy among rural tribal. The results also suggest that level of financial literacy varies significantly among respondents based on various demographic and socio-economic factors
