Abstract:
In recent times, the Indian sports scene has experienced a notable increase in the presence of foreign coaches across diverse fields. This study aims to offer a brief summary of the factors behind the growing prevalence of foreign coaches in India and the potential consequences for the nation's sporting culture. The rise in the hiring of foreign coaches can be ascribed to various factors, such as the aspiration to leverage global expertise, exposure to advanced training methods, and the pursuit of enhanced performance at the international level. This research explores the reasons behind the growing dependence of Indian sports organizations on foreign coaching expertise. It examines how this trend aligns with broader objectives, aiming to improve competitiveness and elevate the overall standard of play. Moreover, the research investigates the possible drawbacks and advantages linked to the prevalence of foreign coaches in India. It assesses the influence on the growth of local coaching talent, the cultural dynamics within sports teams, and the enduring viability of this strategy. Utilizing case studies and pertinent data, this journal strives to provide perspectives on the changing patterns of coach recruitment and the consequent effects on the broader sports ecosystem in India. In conclusion, the paper highlights the need for a balanced approach to coaching development in India, emphasizing collaboration between domestic and foreign coaching expertise. The results outlined in this thematic study add to the current discussion regarding the influence of international coaches on the trajectory of Indian sports. It provides a nuanced viewpoint on the impact on athlete development, coaching culture, and the overall sporting identity of the nation.
