THE WORLD MARKET OF TOURIST SERVICES: DEVELOPMENT AND REGULATION TENDENCIES

Abstract:
This article explores modern trends of international trade in tourism services. The author analyzes the role of tourism in the world economy and the economies of individual regions, reveals main factors determining the attractiveness of a country to foreign tourists and identifies major producers in international tourism business. Particular attention is paid to the importance of global distribution systems and information and communication technologies to service suppliers from developing countries. Finally, a detailed description of trade restrictions is provided and prospects for their liberalization outlined.
