Abstract:
First part of the article gives an overview of European coastal shipping both from supply and demand side, reviews (with regard to this regional market) key points in ship ownership and ship operations of different tonnage groups, considers age structure of existing ships, concludes on investment opportunities of this market. Second part focuses on key features of shipbuilding and ship-operating investment model, analyses possible sources of finance both in international practice and in Russian present-day reality.
