Bazhanova () Russian Journal of Industrial Economics, 2015, issue 3 Abstract: Currently, the Russian industry in most cases is represented by such entities as industrial integrated structures (IPR). Typical representatives of IPR are JSC “Gazprom†, “Lukoil†, JSC “Mechel†Steel Group OAO “Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant†, OAO “TMK†, JSC “United Metallurgical Company†, JSC group “GUTA†, JSC “Ural Mining-Metallurgical Company†and others. The contemporary studies shows this form of modern research management to provide the following benefits for separate business units, which are the part of the IPR: they have great potential for the implementation of the competitive advantage strategy; they have the ability to create closed production chains and to diversify the production. They are able to save administration costs by centralizing certain functions, etc. Today, much attention is paid to assessing the performance of the industrial integrated structures. However, the complexity and diversity of the process of mergers and acquisitions of business entities do not allow to form a consensus and unified approach to solve the problem. The article discusses the nature of the integration process of companies, reveals specific features and provides methodical approach to the assessment of the effectiveness of an integrated industrial structure taking into account arising synergies.
