Abstract: In this article, a comparative analysis of the Strategy for the development of the customs service of the Russian Federation until 2020 and the Comprehensive Development Program of the FCS of Russia for the period until 2020 and the identification of the main directions for the development of customs bodies are reviewed. The necessity of modernization of the organizational structure and creation of units providing information and technical equipment and management of information technologies was identified and justified.
