Abstract: This article presents a modern view on the formation of first-year students' professional and career skills. An integrated program of diagnosis and development of professional interests and personality traits required to form an adequate idea of future careers, as well as for understanding the strengths and weaknesses regarding career is described. A distinctive feature of this program is its embeddedness in the educational process at the university
