Training of scientific manpower in the field of nanotechnologies (a bibliometric analysis)

Abstract: The authors present the results of their bibliometric research of dissertation flows in the field of nanotechnologies in Russia. The dynamics of growth in the number of academic degrees awarded from 1995 to 2008 is discussed. Main trends are analyzed in the distribution of dissertations with respect to areas of studies. An assessment is presented of staff retention in the field of science and technology for those who have been awarded doctoral degrees.
