Abstract: The article summarises the experience of development of research potential owing to strategy implementation at Mordovia N. P. Ogarev State University. The analysis of indicators characterising the condition, dynamics and issues of the university research activity is made. The directions for promotion of the University research potential and the quality of research activity are defined.
