Abstract: The indiscriminate use of agrochemicals and pesticides pollute the ecosystem and poison humans who make the applications. Currently, there are more and more biological alternatives for the control of organisms that cause damage to agricultural, forestry, and agroforestry plantations. The main objective of this opinion paper is to promote research related to the application of biopesticides, microorganisms, microbial enzymes, for the control of insects, pests, diseases, and biofertilizers using multirotor drones in horticultural agroforestry plantations. The synergic use of drones with RGB sensors, multispectral sensors, or thermal sensors, and UAVs sprayers in the agroforestry sector is imminent. The use of biopesticides involves the use of plant extracts, beneficial microorganisms, and some microbial enzymes. The use of microbes as biofertilizers is considered to some extent an alternative to chemical fertilizers. Agroforestry plantations require special phytosanitary management in both the tree component and the herbaceous component, the application of biopesticides and biofertilizers with UAVs or drones can mean more effective applications and more efficient control of pests and diseases and increase potential yield of horticultural agroforestry plantations.
