Within and Between-Tree Variation in Growth Ring Width of Pinus oocarpa Wood

Abstract: Variation in growth ring width of 25-years-old Pinus oocarpa trees planted in central Malawi was investigated. A total of 30 discs were collected from six trees at breast height (1.3m from the ground level), 25%, 50%, 75% and 90% stem height. The estimated mean growth ring width was 5.98±0.15 mm.
