Abstract: There is an increasing trend of people living in urban areas and raises the prospect of crowded, violent and unhealthy cities threatened by the escalation of social conflict, and intolerable environmental degradation, and the collapse of basic services. As an antidote to these economic, social, and environmental ills, city and regional planning regimes embodying urban sustainability must be constituted.
