Abstract: In this paper Multivariate statistical analysis and correlation coefficient analysis were used to analyse the soil data and to prepare the baseline of soil parameter around proposed Jaitapur Nuclear Power Plant (JNPP). Result indicates that the soil is reach in iron content. The other trace metals from soil are above trace level with a slight positively skewed distribution. The mean trace metal concentration around proposed JNNP can be arranged in decreasing order as Cu> Cr> Pb> Zn> Ni> Mn> Co> Cd> As> Ba. The study reveals that all the physico-chemical parameters are within the normal permissible range and do not show any significant seasonal changes with the exception of Salinity, EC and Na concentration. It is confirmed from paired t-test that all the parameters along with Salinity, EC and Na concentration maintain its original distribution.
