Abstract:
The single chain proteo-hormone leptin is recognized to play a vital role in the regulation of fat metabolism and storage. Circulating leptin concentration is considered to be reflective of body mass and is primarily tied up with the proportion of adipose tissue. Emerging evidences have indicated that leptin levels are modulated in diabetic conditions and leptin therapy significantly improves diabetic disease management. The present review focuses to discuss the variations in the leptin levels, the potentiality of Leptin therapy in type I diabetes.
