Abstract:
Acute myeloid leukemias were previously known as a single disease, they are a heterogeneous group of diseases with different morphological characteristics and several genetic alterations that are related to prognosis, in general the five years overall survival for patients with de novo Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) is only 25% according to Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program (SEER) from United States of America. Standard chemotherapy for this type of leukemia with best results is those schemes based on cytarabine and anthracycline administration achieving Complete Response (CR) rates of 85%.
