Abstract:
To determine if a relatively inexpensive ($895) mechanical birth simulator is effective for teaching third year medical students about normal labor and delivery and to evaluate its effect on their confidence to perform a vaginal delivery. Simulators have been shown to improve student confidence and knowledge during obstetric clerkships.
