Abstract:
Mind-body-spirit medicine may be a new catch phrase; however, it is not a new concept in nursing. Practicing holistically is what nurses do, what they have always done, and what they do better than anyone. Hypnosis is the soul of mind-body-spirit medicine and the essence of holistic care. Hypnosis takes the power of belief and expectation, mixes it with imagination and suggestion and welds them into an incredible power and irresistible force for health and healing. Hypnotic skills and communication should be part of every nurse’s toolbox.
