Abstract: Patellofemoral joint osteoarthritis (PFJA) affects 9.2 % of patients aged more than 40 years [1]. However, despite its frequency, this condition has proven historically to be difficult to treat. In recent years a better understanding of the disease, the biomechanics of the joint and the improvements of prosthetic design have made patellofemoral joint replacement (PFJR) an attractive option.
