Abstract: Though highly stigmatized in the United States’ sociocultural environment, “Generation Me†inevitably will be leading the world by the end of this century. The purpose of this article is to utilize existing literature in attempt to understand the roots of how their identity has and will continue to manifest in daily life. Through the lens of Dr. Marcia’s ego-identity status theory, I will delve into the motivational roots of today’s generation of developing professionals.
