Abstract:
The suggested statistical model make it possible to analyze simultaneously the effect of the student's characteristics, when entering the program, on his perseverance as well as on his performance, as measured by his avarage grade. The model takes into account the fact that no such grade is available for non-persevering students. Our study suggests that the statistical model is quite appropriate and that the same characteristics have a different impact on perseverance and performance.
