Abstract:
We analyse the potential competition within a context of product differentiation and taking the EC sugar market as an example. We propose a specific model of vertical product differentiation. It takes into account two quality parameters and allows the divisibility of the good. Then we analyse the incentive for product differentiation for an entrant and the credibility of the commitment on a limit pricing for the incumbent.
