Recherche d'emploi et risques de récurrence du chômage: une analyse des qualifications

Xavier Joutard and Michèle Ruggiero

Annals of Economics and Statistics, 2000, issue 57, 239-265

Abstract: We analyse job-seeking individuals behaviour and transition rates from unemployment within a nonstationary structural job search model. The model gives the agent the ability to anticipate future risks of unemployment. We estimate reservation wage paths with special attention to skill levels and gender. The combination of transition rates, arrival rates of job offers and reservation wage emphasizes skill and gender inequalities. Results have also a strong sensitivity to future environment anticipation.
