Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a unified framework allowing to report the most recent developments in price discrimination literature. These latest developments in price discrimination literature. These latest developments share the common feature of relaxing the assumptions underlying the canonical model of monopolistic price discrimination. Our unified framework allows us to compare allocative distortions from the canonical model with those obtained when the basic assumptions are relaxed, and to estimate in which measure the fundamental principles of price discrimination are modified.
