Abstract:
In this paper, we consider an equilibrium search model of the labor market where the job offers are characterized by the wage level and the work duration and the workers are heterogeneous relative to access to minimum income programmes. We show that increasing hourly minimum wage leads the firms to post more part-time jobs and then contributes to increase voluntary unemployment. We emphasize also the consequences of reforms of the social benefit system.
