"The Emergence of Complex Social Networks", a Discussion

Tristan Tomala

Annals of Economics and Statistics, 2007, issue 86, 19-23

Abstract: In his lecture, FERNANDO VEGA-REDONDO presents a dynamic model of network formation. N agents have opportunities to form links with each other. An agent may form new links under favourable conditions, white existing links may disappear through decay of relationship. The aim is to compute the average connectivity of the resulting network in the long-run and to study how this connectivity varies with the parameters of the process, that is with the rate at which links are formed of destroyed.
