Abstract:
We explore the impact of spatial and technological R&D spillovers on the innovative activities in Europe. We consider a linear feedback model to explain the dynamics of count data processes relative to patents and R&D expenditures. Estimations are made on a panel data set relative to public and private sectors in 113 regions of 9 European countries over the period 1995-2002. According to the geographical and technological distances among regions, we show that spillovers effects are different.
