Abstract:
Alexandru Marghiloman is the most remarkable political personality born in Buzau. As a president of the Conservative Party, having a sympathy for Germany, in March 1918 he accepted to be Prime-Minister in a time when the military and political situation was very difficult. He will sign the Treaty of Peace with Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and Turkey at Buftea, sacrificing his political career, but making Romania survive. In 1927 “The Political Memories” signed by Alexandru Marghiloman, were published, a kind of revenge post-mortem of this great figure “proscribed”.
