Abstract:
Consumer protection is an activity rather new in Romania where from political reasons there were no preoccupations in this area before 1990. After the transition at the market economy it was very clear that Romania needed to create a law system for the protection of the consumers, coherent, adapted at our realities but in the same time based on the international regulations in order to assure a real protection for the Romanian consumer. In the field of services activities there are some specific aspects, different from the goods production. Adequately, the protection of the consumer as beneficiary of service has some particular features. Because during the carrying out of the service the provider and the consumer are in direct contact, most of the consumers’ complaints are related to the activity of the providing the service itself. In this paper we present some general aspects of the consumer protection in Romania and a study of the consumers complaints in the area of services activities developed in Suceava County during the period 2004 – 2005.
