Abstract: The major mutations occurred in the economic phenomena and processes as a direct effect of globalization along with the increased concurrence implies the use of innovation as a first strategic option. The research and development activity - the main component of the knowledge-based economy, play an important role in sustaining the innovation. Better capitalization of information and knowledge is, in this context, a vital necessity of the companies survival and development. Education and Information Technology are the main tools in which this objective can be achieved.
